Gooey oven S’mores

It’s turning out to be quite a busy summer for us. We’ve been on the go the past few weeks celebrating birthdays and graduations and attending various family events. We finally had some time to relax over the Fourth of July weekend though and spent a nice, peaceful few days at my parent’s property in Northport. If you haven’t heard of Northport, it’s a teeny tiny town in the Northeast corner of Washington, on the way up to Canada. Fun fact, my parents are only seven miles from the Canadian border!

It was pretty secluded up there, and with wilderness surrounding us in all directions, it felt like a big family camping trip. And what’s a camping trip without a classic S’mores making session? There’s nothing like roasting your marshmallows over an open fire and getting your hands messy as you squeeze your marshmallow in between your graham crackers and chocolate and prepare to eat your creation. But what happens if you don’t have a nice roaring fire to roast marshmallows over? Do you have to give up your S’mores dream? I say absolutely not!

Thank goodness for oven S’mores because as much as we wanted to make S’mores the traditional way, we just weren’t able to. You remember me talking about wilderness right? Well turns out there were creatures like bears, that we didn’t want to attract with our fire. But since we still wanted those S’mores, we resorted to making them in the oven. And they turned out just as delicious, and just as gooey. So next time you’re craving S’mores but don’t want to (or can’t) build a fire, turn your oven on and get to roasting!

Gooey Oven S’mores

Ingredients:

One package jumbo marshmallows

One multi pack of Hershey’s milk chocolate bars

One package graham crackers

Steps:

Turn your oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Break each graham cracker in half to make two squares. Place as many squares as will fit in a baking pan and top each with one marshmallow. Bake for a few minutes or until marshmallows start to puff up. While the marshmallows are in the oven, break apart chocolate bars into small squares and set aside.

Remove the marshmallows from the oven and place desired amount of chocolate on top of each one. Top with another graham cracker square and squeeze together.

And there you have it! Gooey chocolatey oven S’mores. Probably the easiest recipe I will ever post on here. Enjoy!
